Two artists of the northwestern Hill Country have assembled a photography exhibit showcasing the towns in which they live. “Two Towns: Brownwood and Mason” is a collaborative effort by Mason artist Robin E. Clark and artist Julie Mize, of Brownwood. Clark is a member of the Mason-based Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country.

The photographic showing has been in development for more than a year. Both women photographed a variety of common, everyday scenes, objects, and landmarks in their towns. The images are mainly from downtown areas, but also include some less well-known sites and locations. The theme became a kind of visual treasure hunt for the photographers as they explored their towns, looking for unique, artistic perspectives.

Clark works with digital methods of color photography and Mize works with black-and-white film. The variation in media adds an interesting aspect to the exhibit.

The exhibit will open to the public in the Brownwood Art Center at 215 Fisk Avenue on Saturday, August 2, from 10:00 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. It will run through Saturday, August 9. The gallery will be open from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10:00 a.m. till noon on Saturday, August 9.

The exhibit is open to the public with no cost for admission. Artworks will be available for sale.
