The first game on most H. S. and college football schedules is usually a Mary.

The Puncherdome was all a buzz this past weekend as our MHS Punchers hosted a preseason scrimmage against the Braves of Ozona. With over 500 people in attendance you would have thought it was a Friday night. The Punchers who have been receiving quite a bit of hype during the preseason lived up to their marquee billing by dismantling a very talented Ozona team.

After two gruelling weeks of two a day practices, the MHS Punchers will finally get a chance to guage their progress as they tangle with Ozona at the Puncherdome Saturday the 16th of August. The JV will play first at 9: 00 a.

Last week, the Mason Tennis Association hosted its 43rd Annual Dr Pepper Open. This tournament is sponsored by the Mason Bottling Company and the Mason Chamber of Commerce.

The high school football preseason polls were released this month and much to the delight of the Mason faithful, our Punchers are viewed as a preseason favorite. The preseason polls have Region 4 District 29 rolling out in the following order.

The inaugural season of the Mason Youth Football program will get underway Monday, August 4th as the next generation of Punchers hits the gridiron for their first practice. For years I have heard that we would have a much better H.

Don't forget to sign up your child for the upcoming soccer season. This will be our last registration. A $10 late fee will be applied for all applicants who are late.

For the first time, Mason Pony League became affiliated with Texas Teenage Baseball. We had 6 teams in our affiliate. Mason had a team, as well as, San Saba and Llano.

On a very hot Saturday June 28, saw the completion of the first Mason Sandlot Wood Bat Tournament. Starting the Consolation games Saturday morning saw the Llano team slugging it out with the Cen-Tex team from the Bangs area.
